About

Michelle Christensen, LCSW

Raised outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, I fell in love with the natural beauty of Colorado more than two decades ago, and knew I needed to relocate immediately. After testing out several suburban areas, my husband and two children chose Bailey as our home. Over the last 15 years, we’ve raised our children, played with our four dogs, hiked plenty of trails, and gotten to know and love our rural community. When I’m not working, I’m either playing with our pups, seeking adventure on a new trail, paddleboarding, reading, or learning something new.

Professionally, I work with clients across the lifespan and have spent the past several years supporting individuals on their unique paths to wellbeing, growth, and self-discovery. My areas of expertise include trauma, attachment issues, neurodivergence, suicidal ideation, self-injury, and relational conflict. I hold a deep passion for suicide prevention and have dedicated much of my training and clinical focus to helping individuals find hope and safety in their most difficult moments.

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I use evidence-based techniques to help clients process trauma, reduce emotional distress, and move beyond experiences that feel stuck or overwhelming. EMDR allows the brain to naturally reprocess difficult memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. I integrate EMDR within a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship, helping clients feel safe, grounded, and empowered throughout the healing process.

Before earning my Master of Social Work degree from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with a focus on strategic relationship maintenance. As a lifelong learner, I’m committed to ongoing growth and development. I am currently expanding my skillset through continued education in addiction treatment and EMDR, ensuring I can offer the most effective and comprehensive care possible for my clients.

At the heart of my practice is a belief in collaboration, safety, and compassion. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in creating meaningful and lasting change. Together, we will develop a comprehensive plan to provide you with the tools you need to help you reach your goals.
